Activities
The Glacier Park Inn Bed & Breakfast is close to almost anything you want to do during
your vacation. Your hosts have many years of experience and are quite familiar with
the surrounding area. Here you will have a comfortable place to stay and
get tips on where to go and what to see. All of our resources are available for our
guests’ enjoyment.
Glacier
National Park offers unmatched beauty all year long; however,
in the summertime, it is the most popular when the Going to the Sun Highway is open. You
can book a day's
auto tour on one of the newly restored 1930’s style “Jammer” buses.
The Going to the Sun Highway takes you
through the center of the Park, up and over the Continental Divide and provides excellent
access to alpine meadows and
hiking trails. The road usually opens by mid-June and remains open through September. Also, Glacier National Park provides scenic
boat
tours on four of the major lakes within the Park. You can even take a combination
hike and boat tour. To learn more about the Crown of the Continent ecosystem, you can take classes with The Glacier Institute. Nearby, we also have the Bob Marshall and the Great Bear Wilderness
all available for public use. Local outfitters provide excellent access to the remote
wilderness areas and offer both fly-fishing and
horseback riding trips.
The southern portion
of Glacier National Park is bordered by the Middle Fork of the Flathead River where
whitewater rafting and kayaking are the
favorite activities. This same river runs right by the Glacier Park Inn Bed & Breakfast and eventually
feeds Flathead Lake, one of the largest fresh water lakes west of the Mississippi. For
those folks looking for a "birds eye" view of Glacier National Park and Flathead Valley
helicopter tours
can be arranged.
There are also 10 championship level golf courses within a 50 mile drive of
the Glacier Park Inn Bed & Breakfast.
